Midpoint Reflection

The internship has been really different because I though that it would be hard, but is not like that it has been so easy, well until now. And I hope I will learn so much from this site. I expected that because I was going to work to Human Resources it would be difficult, ‘cause I had heard from people that this kind of jobs are seriously, well the job is seriously but is not what the people always said.
Human Resources at Employee Verification and IHSL are very different is so much quiet and fresh and the people never scream over you, like your partners at school does. What similar is that we always have to be inside the four walls, classroom and office.
The new skills that I had learned are how to interact with others this is so important, to ask office questions when you ask a professional question everyone in a office understand you much better, how to answer the phone this can help me to work in a office in the future, to make labels, to file information, and how to make a letter with the information that’s required.
My relationship with my mentor and co-workers is very good with make fun, talk as friends, for example the second week, we were talking about my career and what college I want to go, our conversations are very respectful.
Interacting with professionals adults is really growing and really fast because in the office were I work, too many people goes in and out, and also when they call us we have to pay attention and now to answer and ask for anything.
My English is growing so much and learning so much new words, words that I never had heard before.
How to use different Microsoft is really different from the one that we use in the school.

Four weeks into internship....

The full name of my site is the NYU Langone Medical Center. And my job title is Human Resources and I work in the office of Employee Verification. We provide very important information that we only can provide this information to immigration and 1199 Union all this information is confidential that's why we don't provide information to a ordinary person, only if they have a letter signed by immigration or 1199 Union.
What do I do regularly? I look for people information in the system, I check who is working and who is not. When a new hire information comes over the office I make a Label with his/her name and Social security number then I file it. I also answer the phone and receive people that came to the office. One thing I have noticed about my mentor is that she is very serious on her job, and she is always there for you and help you in anything you don't understand. Something I enjoy about my internship is when I have to take information to the central Hospital. And being in the office doing work in the computer. In my internship I don't challenge things to do I really understand what I doing.
My site is located in One Park Av. and 33rd street in Manhattan.
I leave school approximately at 11:45 am each day. And it takes about 40 minutes to get to my site. I reach at home at 4:50 pm. I work for four days at week and I work for four hours everyday and sometimes I do overtime. The name of the person who signs my time card is Ewa Bruse.
